YouTube channel showing giraffe birth 2nd most live-viewed

April the giraffe gave birth to her calf Saturday, but Animal Adventure Park in upstate NY continued their live stream footage on YouTube Tuesday. However, that will soon change.

In a Facebook message, Mr Patch told the park's followers: "What I found astonishing was the meaning and objective behind every move April made during delivery".

"We are well aware, long before the first email, that April had a small twist of her leg today which has her favoring it", the zoo said in a Facebook post.

Animal Adventure park owner Jordan Patch has said "both mom and calf are doing fine", and was apparently so excited that he was shaking when he went to assemble the delivery team.

The giraffe cam made Animal Adventure Park the second most live-viewed channel in YouTube's history, with more than 232 million live views since February.

According to April's official Twitter account, the baby weighed 129 pounds and measured 5 feet, 9 inches.

April the Giraffe's newborn calf has met his father, Oliver, for the first time since he was born. The calf will remain with April until he stops nursing, at about six months. The live stream began on February 10 and numbers quickly increased for the video.

At least 1.2 million people watched the Adventure Park's YouTube streaming of the event. The live stream had millions of views during its two months and on Saturday, it had a whopping 14 million viewers throughout the day. Millions of people around the world have been tuning in daily.

Animal Adventure park is now closed to the public and will open in mid-May. A GoFundMe fundraiser page that initially set a goal of $50,000 sat at more than $125,000 on Saturday morning. The facility has garnered celebrity-status attention and will use their global platform to further good causes when it comes to animals and educating the masses. The park has confirmed that the leg injury has improved and they are now holding a contest to name her baby.
