Two cops injured during search operation in Kashmir

"Today morning 3 Terrorists eliministed at Zainpora Shopian". The Army quickly launched a search operation in the area but no arrests were made, the police sources said.

Two soldiers among them succumbed to injuries last night. Personnel from 55 Rashtriya Rifles, special operations group of police and Central Reserve Police Force are jointly taking part in the operation.

As the forces were conducting searches, the militants opened fire on them which was retaliated by the law enforcement personnel, triggering a gunfight.

Seemingly after its failure to tackle protest led by oppressed citizens in Occupied Kashmir, the Indian Army is planning to deploy indigenously built robots, capable of delivering ammunition at intended locations. Sunil Randhawa of the 17 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) was injured in the incident and was taken an army hospital in Drugmulla.

While informing about the operation, J&K DGP SP Vaid said that inupts about terrorists hiding in Shopian were received after which a cordon was laid in the area.

"One youth was hit by bullet in right his leg while as another youth was hit by pellets in eye and the duo was shifted to Srinagar hospitals for advanced treatment", he said.

Also on Saturday, an explosion occurred in Srinagar's Dalgate area.
