Trump calls 'Liddle' Bob Corker a 'fool' over NYT interview

Corker had been a national security adviser to Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign and on Trump's short-list previous year for both vice president and secretary of state. Hence, I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda.

That's right: a member of the GOP collaborated with one of Trump's most-hated "fake news" sources to come clean about how he - and much of the Republican party - feels about the 45th president of the United States.

Trump added another tweet Sunday evening: "Bob Corker gave us the Iran Deal, & that's about it".

Corker also chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and could have a major say over the future of the Iran nuclear deal, which the president is expected to decertify in the coming days.

Corker first fired back on Twitter, saying the white House had become an "adult day care center".

In Corker's interview, the Tennessee senator claimed Trump was treating the office of president like "a reality show" and was putting the nation "on a path to World War III".

Already, there was the prospect of even more elbow room to say what he wants and to vote how he pleases over the next 15 months as Trump and the party's leaders on Capitol Hill struggle to get their agenda on track. "I think we all need to be doing more about this", Booker said.

President Donald Trump is not backing down on his criticism against Senator Bob Corker over social media this morning. Republicans control both houses of the U.S. Congress but hold only a narrow majority, 52-48, in the Senate, which means Trump has only a slim margin for potential defections from within his own party on legislation.

"Look, except for a few people, the vast majority of our caucus understands what we're dealing with here", he said, adding that "of course they understand the volatility that we're dealing with and the tremendous amount of work that it takes by people around him to keep him in the middle of the road."
He also singled out Tillerson, Defense Secretary James Mattis, and the White House chief of staff John Kelly as the "people that help separate our country from chaos", seeming to deliberately omit Trump.

"Corker had 2 aides on line, also recording, and they made sure after it ended that I was taping, too", Times reporter Jonathan Martin tweeted.

Asked last week about reported tensions between Trump and Tillerson, Corker responded with what was seen as a jab at Trump. "You know he does it, everyone knows he does it, but he does".

Mackler announced six months ago that his full-time job would be seeking the Democratic nomination for Senator Bob Corker's seat, whether the incumbent was running or not.
