Transfer: Arsenal striker joins Jack Wilshere at West Ham

West Ham have announced the signing of Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, on a three year deal, for a fee in the region of £5m, including add-ons.

Perez scored seven times in 21 appearances for Arsenal, including a hat-trick in the Champions League away to Basel.

Perez was signed from Deportivo La Coruna for £17m two years ago but struggled to secure a regular first-team role during his debut campaign at Arsenal.

West Ham were already interested but now West Brom have joined the race to sign him.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Sanchez, 32, spent the end of last season on loan at Espanyol and is expected to be West Ham's final signing of the window.

Sanchez, who has signed a two-year deal, is also determined to make an impact at the London Stadium.

West Ham's signings this summer also include winger Brazilian Felipe Anderson from Lazio, Toulouse centre back Issa Diop, Ukraine's Andriy Yarmolenko and Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Sanchez, in a statement for the club's website, said: "I'm very happy to be here. I'm very excited and looking forward to achieving lots".

"I'm very happy to be part of this new project".

'I'd like to thank all of the people, the whole club, for having me'.

West Ham director of football Mario Husillos said Perez's arrival would increase new manager Manuel Pellegrini's options upfront.

West Ham opens the season with a tricky clash against Liverpool on August 12th at the London Stadium.

Perez managed to score eight goals in 35 matches for Deportivo who have been relegated into the Segunda division in Spain last season.
