Tottenham boosted as Danny Rose and Erik Lamela return to training

But the duo are continuing their comeback bids and Tottenham took to social media to post photographs of the pair in first team training.

Tottenham left-back Danny Rose is understood to be keen on the idea of moving to Manchester United next summer, despite ongoing links that suggest the England global could be on his way to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Star.

That has hurt Spurs in that department but Welshman Ben Davies has come into the side and provided great quality, especially this season.

Lamela has not played for Tottenham for nearly a year because of hip problems and even spent time at former club Roma as he attempted to overcome his injuries before undergoing surgery.

Now, both Lamela and Rose have returned to first-team training and will be looking to get 100% fit in the coming months.

It has been even longer since manager Mauricio Pochettino was last able to call upon the services of fellow Argentine Lamela, who has not played a single minute of football since appearing as a substitute in Tottenham's 2-1 EFL Cup fourth round defeat to Liverpool in October 2016.

Doncaster-born Rose, who joined Spurs as a teenager in 2007, has made it clear that he intends to return to the north of England before he retires.

This comes after the player claimed the club lacked ambition during the summer transfer window, which he was later fined for. He has repeatedly been linked with a big-money move to Manchester United.
