A Wrinkle In Timefollows the extraordinary journey of science-loving teenager Meg Murry (played by Storm Reid) as she travels through space and time with her brother and neighbor in order to rescue her dad from another dimension.
The first footage from Ava DuVernay's highly-anticipated "A Wrinkle in Time" is finally here.
New Zealand landscapes also feature in shots of Calvin, played by young Australian actor Levi Miller, falling through the sky, and him and Meg Murry (Storm Reid) fleeing a crumbling landcape.
DuVernay (Selma) seems to have done the star-studded film justice. During her presentation at D23, she described the movie as "a family story wrapped in an epic adventure, where you see worlds you've never seen before".
Joining DuVernay on stage were members of the cast: Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon), Mrs. Based on the trailer released today, Winfrey's character will have the opposite problem of not being seen.
The film's director Ava DuVernay presented the almost two-minute clip at the Anaheim-based event. Her name on Disney's adaptation of Madeline L'Engle's 1962 novel "A Wrinkle in Time" has us excited. Kaling, whose Mrs. Who only speaks in wise adages, says her character doesn't just evoke old-school scholars, she also utilizes wise words from all cultures.
While this looks like it'll be pretty excellent, it's important to remember that A Wrinkle in Time will be a landmark film no matter its final result. "It's different, but hopefully makes you feel the same".
Copies of the poster were presented to the crowd as Winfrey parodied her famed talk-show giveaways by yelling: "Everybody gets a poster!"
We hope the film is better than the trailer, which will debut on 9 March 2018.
