'The Division' Update 1.8 Adds New Gameplay Modes and Area

The "Resistance" update adds a cooperative mode of the same name where up to four players fight endless waves of enemies in the new West Side Pier area.

Ubisoft is celebrating the massive update by making all three season pass add-ons - Underground, Survival, and Last Stand - free for all The Division players from December 5 to December 10. Among the top additions is the new West Side Piers PvE map expansion, featuring new story content and side missions, along with a new social space called Camp Clinton.

The Division 1.8 update is due for release on December 5, ahead of a free weekend if you'd like to test it out between December 7-10. Be the team with the highest number of kills when the time limit expires.

Xbox Live Gold members can play Ubisoft's The Division for free this weekend. The two new game modes are Resistance and Skirmish.

From December 5th - 10th, all The Division players will get free, unlimited access to all three expansions included in Tom Clancy's The Division's Season Pass offer, including Underground, Survival and Last Stand. Tom Clancy's The Division is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and Update 1.8 will be available in all versions tomorrow. Survive in your team of four for as long as you can to receive greater rewards. And it's not enough to just "down" an enemy player - you have to eliminate them to make it count.

Other changes include a Rogue system overhaul, a gear optimization station for improving the quality of items, changes to the Underground missions, and more.
