"His contribution will go a long way in strengthening the party", Union Minister and BJP leader Piyush Goyal told reporters at BJP headquarters here.
Her third term comes to an end on April 3.
"I was denied a Rajya Sabha berth and it was given to someone who dances in films". Ye filmon mein dance karte, apna role karte, unke naam par hamara ticket kata gaya, mein ne isko bahut uchit nahin samjha. "Because of her, the ticket was not given to me, which I did not find right", he said.
He said he would unconditionally do whatever the party wanted him to.
Taking to Twitter, Yadav said, "We condemn the remarks made by BJP's Naresh Agrawal on Jaya Bachchan". His son Nitin Agarwal, the current MLA from Hardoi, also joined the BJP.
BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra, who was at the press conference, picked up the microphone immediately after Agrawal concluded his brief speech.
Speaking about the SP, Agarwal said that the party has "lost its way" in recent times.
"I was equated with those working in films. Everyone is like minded here so there is no issue with acquisition from any other party".
Agarwal said he was influenced by the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will do seva for the BJP. But I don't have any conditions. This could derail the calculations of the SP-BSP-Congress for the RS polls in UP.
Agrawal was in the eye of a storm in July past year - and had ironically invited the wrath of the BJP and Hinditva groups - when he compared various Hindu deities with different types of liqour while speaking in the Rajya Sabha on cow vigilantism. A number of SP leaders were unhappy with the decision and it was quite likely that BJP's 10th candidate would tap this discontent against Akhilesh's move.
