Suspects Pummel 92-Year-Old Man with Brick in Southern Los Angeles

Rodriguez was released from the hospital Thursday.

According to one of the witnesses of the attack, Misbel Borjas, the suspects said several racist things to Rodriguez while beating him.

Rodriguez travels to the USA yearly from Michoacan, Mexico, to visit his family in Willowbrook, grandson Erik Mendoza told CNN, which reported that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was seeking up to five suspects - the woman and three or four men - as of Monday night.

Rodriguez's family told KTLA-TV that the woman from the photograph pushed Rodriguez to the ground, picked up a brick and began beating him with it.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department is still investigating.

Misbel Borjas, a neighbor, witnessed the attack from her vehicle, she told the Los Angeles Times. He said he apologized and turn to continue his walk when the woman hit him from behind, knocking him to the floor. A group of young men bounded down the street, accusing Rodriguez of trying to snatch the young girl.

Rodriguez suffered a broken jaw, two broken ribs and broken cheek bones.

Graphic video footage shows Rodrigo Rodriguez looking dazed and bloodied after being attacked while visiting family in LA on July 4.

"I didn't even bump into her kid", Rodriguez said. Mendoza told the outlet.

A 92-year-old man was attacked by five people, beaten with a brick, and told to 'go back to your country'.

"We are concerned, especially with the type of crime they committed", Deputy D'Angelo Robinson told the station. "What kind of threat does he pose to you, for you to do this to him?" his grandson Erik Mendoza asked. A video was taken by a witness showing a woman who appears to be African American with a brick in her hand. He said. "That's why we're still in shock, as you can see he's badly injured".

Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for Rodriguez's treatment and recovery.

The GoFundMe page for Rodriguez has already doubled its original goal of $15,000.

A witness began recording the incident involving Rodriguez and a woman and four men. One witness, Misbel Borjas, said that he was in a vehicle when he saw the incident.
