A couple of former UFC champions will go to war in Winnipeg later this year.
In one corner, we'll have former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler.
In addition to Aldo-Lamas II, UFC on FOX 26 will also feature a pair of welterweight bouts between Mike Perry [11-1] and Santiago Ponzinibbio [25-3], and Jordan Mein [29-12] vs. Erick Silva [19-8]. Now operating out of Henri Hooft's Combat Club, Lawler has won six of his past seven bouts, a knockout loss to Tyron Woodley his only misstep.
Lawler (28-11) is the No. 1 ranked welterweight, following Woodley, according to the UFC rankings.
White didn't offer any extra details on the decision other than confirming "yeah" when asked directly if the victor of Lawler vs. dos Anjos gets the next shot. Twenty of his twenty-eight wins have come via KO/TKO.
The next FOX special will air on December 16th from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
Lawler Vs Dos Anjos headlines the upcoming UFC On FOX 26 event on December 16th in Winnepeg, Canada, which means that Woodley won't be defending his title again until sometime in 2018. RDA, who bested Anthony Pettis to win the 155lb title in the UFC, lost the strap to Eddie Alvarez, then suffered a defeat against Tony Ferguson back in November 2016. Dos Anjos (27-9), a former lightweight champ, is unbeaten since moving up a weight class to 170 pounds earlier this year.
