Sheldon Richardson done with the Vikings, signing with the Browns

No deals will be finalized until free agency opens on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

ESPN was first to report Richardson's agreement. That changed with the addition of Olivier Vernon from the New York Giants as well as with the recent news of Richardson joining the club. Richardson had 49 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 2018. Defensive tackle Carl Davis, a former 2015 third-round pick of the Ravens, re-signed in Cleveland according to a team announcement.

Anthony Barr and Sheldon Richardson were two of the Vikings' most talented guys that were becoming free agents, but the hope was that the team could retain at least one of them for next season. The 28-year-old was the No. 13 overall pick by the Jets in 2013.

Vernon, who didn't live up to expectations the past few seasons, gives Cleveland another threat off the edge, and Larry Ogunjobi emerged last season as a dependable run stopper. The league also suspended him for the first game in 2016 under its personal-conduct policy after he tried to outrun police in St. Louis, driving his Bentley at 143 miles per hour before being stopped.
