See Michael Cera, Awkwafina in Jordan Peele's YouTube anthology Weird City

Jordan Peele may be horror's new favorite son, but the ever-busy writer/producer/director is finding ways to acknowledge his comedy roots. The trailer debuted on Christmas day and showed us nearly everything that can go wrong when a family takes a trip out of town to their beach house.

YouTube Premium has released the official trailer for Academy Award victor Jordan Peele's sci-fi comedy series Weird City. Set in a society where classes are starkly divided by the haves and have-nots, labeled in this case as "Above the Line" and "Below the Line", Weird City stars LeVar Burton as a mad scientist who introduces all kinds of freakish gadgets to better optimize love and life - to hilarious results according to the Weird City trailer. While the episodes will all tell different stories, there will be one constant in the form of Dr. Negari.

Each episode will take a look at issues that pertain to the present day, like social media, online dating, and fitness, through the introduction of new technologies. WEIRD CITY captures the unease of modern urban living, in a freakish and peculiar lens.

The cast includes LeVar Burton, Mark Hamill, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and Awkwafina, to name a few. Peep the full trailer below and stream it on YouTube, if you have a premium account.

The series will be set in the not-so-distant future metropolis of Weird.

Weird City is written and co-created by Peele and former Key & Peele writer Charlie Sanders. He will also serve as an executive producer alongside Peele, Sanders, Win Rosenfeld (Monkeypaw), Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller (Mosaic), Tom Lesinski and Jenna Santoianni (Sonar), Keith Raskin and Linda Morel (Raskal) and Jose Molina, who is also Weird City's showrunner.

Weird City, which stars Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and other famous actors, will debut on YouTube Premium on February 13.
