SC homeowner finds 9-foot alligator on porch

This is exactly what happened to the Polstone family who woke up with the festive Easter spirits in their hearts and the refreshing seasonal spring on their heads at their home in Mount Pleasant in SC until they saw a full grown approximately 9-foot giant alligator on their door.

No, it wasn't the Easter Bunny.

Susie and Steve Polston - along with their 16-year-old son - cowered in the master bedroom as the terrifying beast prowled around in their home in South Carolina, US.

The Polston family, who lives in Mount Pleasant, said they first thought someone was trying to break-in to their home, but found that the gator had climbed onto their porch.

They did what any wise person would do, they called the state's department of natural resources to remove the large reptile.

Post and Courier reports that when the animal didn't budge after hours, the wildlife expert was forced to euthanise it.

Apparently, this kind of behavior isn't unusual for this time of year.

Polston says the family will invest in a more secure screen door and a gate for the stairwell to prevent future visits from alligators.
