Ronaldo will not quit Real Madrid, feels Salgado

Cristiano Ronaldo's former teammate Michel Salgado believes that the Portuguese striker will stay with the Santiago Bernabeu side.

Ronaldo, 32, has been linked to former employers Manchester United and French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Ronaldo was reportedly not happy with the lack of the club's backing of him in his tax fraud case.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale says he has "no clue" if Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club in the transfer window.

After the victory over Juventus, Real coach Zinedine Zidane refused to offer assurances about Bale's future, saying only that it would be decided later in the off-season, but the Welshman has been clear in his thoughts on a possible departure. The 28-year-old was a substitute for the Champions League final between Real and their city rivals Atletico Madrid.

"But I am pretty sure that Cristiano is so happy at Real Madrid, and Real Madrid is happy with Cristiano".

"Right now, he is our soul", added Salgado.

"I haven't seen much of him, really", he said. I honestly don't know. I think that is the thing that he learnt in the past year, he was ready to be Cristiano Ronaldo when we needed, in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

Real Madrid's Welsh forward Gareth Bale will start the new football season under pressure after missing the end of his club's successful last campaign with an ankle injury while players such as Marco Asensio and Isco took the chance his absence gave them to stake their claim for a regular first team place. "I will try to have my best season, as long as injuries allow it". "Maybe he can not (increase his level) further, but obviously he is going to be really important for Real Madrid".
