Real Madrid agree deal for defender Eder Militao from Porto

The 21-year-old Brazilian is a player who has registered on the transfer radar of those at the Santiago Bernabeu for some time.

The versatile 21-year-old only joined Porto from Sao Paulo last summer, but has impressed considerably in his debut season in Europe.

Militao has had an excellent first season in Europe, becoming a key part of the Porto squad and starting 20 league and seven Champions League matches, scoring three goals in the process.

"He has been named the best defender of the championship for five consecutive months".

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who was heavily tipped to take over at Real Madrid, has now commented on Zinedine Zidane being reappointed by the Spanish giants.

"He stands out for his speed, positioning and ability to anticipate danger".

Eder Militao had been playing with Porto since signing from Brazilian club Sao Paulo at the beginning of this season.

"Prior to making the move to Portugal, Militao made a name for himself in Brazilian football".

And highlights of him in action for Porto shows he is an exceptional defender.

He is also a full Brazil worldwide and made his debut against El Salvador in September 2018.

Los Blancos have had a dismal season and chose to restore Zinedine Zidane as manager earlier this week.

He has enjoyed considerable success in that role before and will be hoping to see Militao help to deliver more once welcomed into the Real fold.
