Rangers confirm Alfredo Morelos signing on three-year contract

Rangers have announced the signing of striker Alfredo Morelos from HJK Helsinki on a three-year contract.

Boss Pedro Caixinha is pinning his hopes on the youngster's deadly scoring record as he prepares the Light Blues for their first European clash in six years.

Everton have strengthened their Premier League 2-winning squad by signing Holland Under-18 global Nathangelo Markelo from Dutch second division side FC Volendam on a three-year contract.

The forward, who scored 21 goals in 25 appearances for HJK last season, follows Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias in the door at Ibrox. Philadelphia remain 10th, with only former champions DC United guided by Ben Olsen below them.

It has been a busy summer already for Rangers, with Morelos the sixth arrival at the club.

Morelos has been signed ahead of the deadline for the Europa League first qualifying round and will be available to play against Luxembourg's Progres Niederkorn.

"I want to show the fans here what I did every day in Finland - to grow more as a player and as a person".

"This club has such a big support, so I have to make the most of it".

He added: "I know the league here is very competitive - moreso than in Finland, so it's a bit harder and is more complicated". Every time there's an opportunity to score a goal in a game, I will do it constantly.
