Novak is scheduled to participate in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Tehran on November 23, RIA Novosti reported on Saturday.
"It is entirely logical that a few bilateral contacts are envisioned, including with the hosts", Ushakov said. The Kremlin aide said the schedule of meetings so far hadn't been finalized.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev echoed his president's response, saying in a statement: "The Paris tragedy requires of us all to unite in the fight against extremism, to bring a strong answer to terrorists' actions".
The visit will be Putin's first to Iran since 2007 and he is expected to hold talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Ushakov told reporters.
The Group of Twenty (G20) is a leading forum for discussing global economic and financial cooperation.
Iran, Russia, Qatar, Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Peru, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman are the main members of GECF.
The visit to Iran also comes as Russian Federation is looking to bolster business ties with the country after Tehran inked a landmark deal in July to curb its nuclear ambitions that should see a raft of worldwide sanctions lifted.
