Presidential election 2017: Gopal Krishna Gandhi to file nomination on July 18

Gandhi said his nomination for the post simply indicates that the Indian politics has risen above and has got connected with the culture.

He even said the Congress should understand that nominating Gopalkrishna, who backed Memon, is like going against the nation.

The JD (U) has been sending mixed signals to the Congress led opposition.

While admitting that numbers were not with them, Ms Gandhi, however, said it was important to fight the battle to reaffirm the idea of India that the freedom fighters fought for.
