- This was the same night reports claimed Selena Gomez, 26, has suffered an "emotional breakdown" and was seeking mental health treatment.
After the meltdown, Gomez was checked into a psychiatric facility and is now receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) which is used on a variety of mental health disorders. Sources say a family member drove her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A.
Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend was reportedly released from a local Los Angeles hospital, but was readmitted days later because her blood cell count remained low, sending her into an emotional crisis. But she was reportedly particularly upset upon her second hospital visit and became hysterical when the doctors told her she couldn't leave the hospital.
Currently, the singer is said to be undergoing dialectical behavior therapy. It can be used to treat people suffering from borderline personality disorder, depression, bulimia, binge-eating, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and many other mental health issues.
She also shared that she often listens to worship music when she's feeling low, telling fans one of her new favorites is, "This Girl" by Lauren Daigle and playing it for them to listen. A source told ET at the time that she voluntarily made the decision because "she knows her health and wellness require ongoing maintenance".
The Back To You singer supposedly "freaked out" when she was not allowed to return to her home. The 21-year-old model and Bieber secretly tied the knot in New York City last month, but have not publicly confirmed the news. "I could've had a stroke", said Gomez of her break in a Billboard cover story.
"Mood lol (I was looking at myself in the mirror - like an idiot!)" she wrote under the photo, later editing it to add, "Update: taking a social media break".
In September past year, the singer also revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant due to her lupus diagnosis. Selena came back refreshed and refueled, sure, but she was also a little different.
