Pep Guardiola lines up Manchester City reunion with Dani Alves

Manchester City look to be closing in on the £5million signing of Dani Alves, despite the Juventus right-back rubbishing "sh*t" reports of him leaving.

That has led Guardiola to turn his attention to Alves.

The experienced Brazil full-back won Serie A and the Coppa Italia, as well as reaching the Champions League final, in his first season at Juve since completing a free transfer from Barcelona a year ago.

Chelsea have been placed on red alert as Juventus star Dani Alves has refused to rule out a possible exit this summer. Discussions are also planned with Chelsea but Alves's preference is to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Tottenham defender, Kyle Walker is reportedly his top priority but the report goes on to suggest that the Manchester City manager is keen on recruiting two quality right-backs. He initially struggled to make an impact in Turin and last November suffered a broken leg in a defeat at Genoa, which appeared to have brought his time at the club to a premature end.

He helped them reach the Champions League Final, win the Scudetto and Coppa Italia with six goals and seven assists in 33 competitive games. "Pep would tell you exactly how everything was going to happen in a match before it even happened", he wrote in the Players Tribune last month.

'I wish you the best and hope to spend time together again soon.

Alves, 34, is in the final year of a two-year contract with Juventus and could be available for as little as £5 million.
