Pep Guardiola demands more quality to Manchester City's play

"People say we are a big team but we run like a League One or a Conference team".

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Solly March reveals his delight after making his Premier League debut against Manchester City.

"It's going to be tough, very tough".

Manchester City will travel to Brighton at 16:30GMT. There's a gulf between Albion and City. When you are playing Champions League quality teams, you know that they can hurt you.

"To start with three points away is always so important". Especially with a newly promoted team when they have the passion, the fans and no pressure.

"Here it is just as easy for us to switch from a back three to a back four and so on".

Guardiola added: "And we ran a lot".

Last season sitting here after the Sunderland game you said "you are the favourites, you are the most attractive and handsome and nice guys in the league".

"Here every game is a battle, and from my experience - in Barcelona too - it's hard against a newly-promoted club". That is what I'm proud of the most.

Last season we were a humble team and an honest team.

"It's a wonderful game for the club and supporters, as a first game in the Premier League, but we have to make sure it's a good day for the team as well".

"We saw this weekend what happened in many games".

Guardiola also stated that he expected a tough game against Brighton.

Manchester City look really strong and they are my tip for the title. I think we're in for plenty of goals and a decent City win. "It is better to play with a smile on your face".

While Walker is no longer a worry for the London club, they have had to deal with dissent from another full-back, with Danny Rose recently slamming the club's wage structure and their lack of summer signings.

That it took until the dying stages and TWO Brighton blunders for City to get over the line should be a minor cause for concern for the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss. I am backing him to deliver this time around, though.
