A busy conclusion to the Premier League transfer window continued as Chelsea signed Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic on a season-long loan deal, but Jose Mourinho does not expect Manchester United to make any further additions.
"The Red Devils finished runners up last season, but I don't think they will emerge as realistic title contenders or neighbours City's biggest challengers for the title this season".
Mourinho heads into the Leicester match with a hefty injury list, including key midfielders Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera, while a host of other stars of only recently returned from their break after World Cup duty.
"There's a lot of talk now about Pogba wanting to move, to go to Barcelona and if that comes about, then I'd say Mourinho's stay at ManchesterUnited would be in doubt", he said, adding that Pogba playing well for France en route to winning the World Cup puts more pressure on the Man United manager.
Man Utd have registered victory in 17 out of 26 opening day fixtures they have played in.
"[Fred] is a midfield player, he's not a striker, not a central defender".
"He worked amazingly well Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday".
"If they feel they can help us, 20 minutes, 10 minutes half an hour".
