OnePlus 5 Oreo update roll out has been cancelled

Over the holidays, OnePlus was kind enough to update the OnePlus 3 and 3T with an update to Android Oreo.

OnePlus 5 users can now check out the 5T's Face Unlock feature on their older device. The thread for this update is filled with quite a few bug complaints, which makes sense for a first beta, so it's tough to tell of that's related or not. Owing to this, the company had promised speedy updates to their devices.

The Face Unlock in now available in the third beta for the OP5 and is expected to contain some bugs.

I had been running stable Oreo on my OnePlus 5 since it was released and did not notice any issues but this is why roll outs occur - everyone uses their phone differently so bugs that some people find others may not notice. "And we're preparing for Oxygen 5.0.1, the partial release will go alive soon", OnePlus confirmed. That includes the ability to upload images to Shot on OnePlus, combining options with app shortcuts, and optimizing the app shortcut style.

Merry (early) Christmas, OnePlus 5 owners. Have you faced any issues after the update? The security tradeoff is one a good portion of OnePlus' user base seems willing to make. The update also brings smart text selection with a whole new New Quick Settings design to manage your system's performance. OxygenOS 5.0.1 adds support for Qualcomm's aptX HD Bluetooth audio codec, a new Adaptive screen calibration mode, December security patches, and more.

What's your take on this? The OnePlus company said that there will be no danger to your device if you choose to remove it. If you have any feedbacks on this, kindly share it with us in the comments section given below this post. For example, notifications wouldn't appear or disappear for certain apps in addition to being unable to set default alarm clock tune and more.
