Manigault Newman's book, Unhinged, characterises the USA president as a bigot, sexist and racist who she claims has been caught on mic using the N-word multiple times. Why did John Kelly, who has a large, private office, feel that was the best place to fire her?
Current and past White House officials have pooh-poohed her story about the president fighting with the head of the presidential mansion's household staff over his demand for a tanning bed in the residence.
Todd asked why she did not come to this conclusion sooner, noting that Trump had saidmany things over the years that people considered racist, including calling Mexicans "rapists" or saying that "both sides" were to blame for bloodshed during the white nationalist march in Charlottesville last year.
But in an interview with NPR on Friday afternoon, Manigault Newman appeared to contradict her own book, saying that she has heard the tape on which Mr. Trump said the N-word.
"We have Ja'Ron, who's done a fabulous job, been very involved with - he's been very involved with Jared Kushner and President Trump on prison reform from the beginning", Conway said.
"I protected myself because this is a White House where everybody lies".
Ms Manigault Newman said in the book that she had not personally heard the recording, but that pollster Frank Luntz had heard the President use the racial slur.
Omarosa Manigault shared one of her much-talked-about White House recordings with Meet the Press viewers on Sunday and it raises some terrifying possibilities. "Why shouldn't we in the West Wing?"
Manigualt was named by Pres. Donald Trump as his Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison. "I was complicit in it, for that I regret".
In February, Politico reported that Manigault Newman was sacked for using a White House vehicle service as a pick-up and drop-off service. The former White House aide said Sunday she heard the tapes for herself after completing work on her book, but noted she has never heard racial slurs from the president herself.
But when pressed about her version in the book, Manigault Newman told to NPR: "I heard the tape".
But the other recording she discussed on Sunday could prove equally explosive.
The Situation Room is a secure conference room located in the basement of the White House, where people are required to leave their electronic devices outside before entering.
Another claim, one that may give life to meme creators is that she walked in on the President eating a crumpled up piece of paper after a meeting with his then personal lawyer, and now federal witness, Michael Cohen.
