NFL Star Announces His Baby's Death In Devastating Message After Game

It wasn't until after the San Francisco 49ers won their first game of the season Sunday that wide receiver Marquise Goodwin told fans he and his wife, Morgan Goodwin-Snow, had lost their baby son hours earlier, due to premature labor.

Goodwin told his social-media followers that the baby boy was delivered at 4 a.m. Sunday after "some complications".

Prayers to Marquise Goodwin, his wife, Morgan, and their entire family for their tragic loss.

Goodwin had Giants' corner Janoris Jenkins beat, and ran the last 20 or so yards to the end zone alone.

Marquise Goodwin played with the heaviest of hearts on Sunday.

Goodwin, of Lubbock, Texas, played high school football at Rowlett High School and collegiately for the Texas Longhorns.

The couple announced the pregnancy in September.

"I just wanna thank those who've genuinely prayed for [Morgan] & myself through out this pregnancy", Goodwin posted on his social media page on November 12.

Goodwin and his wife, who Wednesday in February 2016, are both accomplished athletes, having both been track and field stars while at the University of Texas at Austin. "But that's okay because we won't stop fighting and we won't give up on what God has in store for us".

"It's just important for us to remember that things happen for a reason, even though we may question ourselves 'why us, ' " she said. "Our faith is strong".
