Nagarjuna's Annapurna Studios caught in a major fire incident, Manam sets destroyed

A major fire broke out on Monday in Annapurna studios in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Way back in 2011 and 2013 also, there were fire accidents at Annapurna Studios due to short circuits.

Four fire tenders were rushed and it took more than two-and-half-hours to extinguish the fire.

Nagarjuna said nobody was injured, adding it was rather sad that the set erected for film "Manam" was gutted. When asked about the value of the set, he said, "When it started, Annapurna Studios was built on a small scale".

He said no casualties are reported in the incident. "The reason for the mishap is still unknown", said Nagarjuna Akkineni, Managing Director, Annapurna Studios.

In addition to Manam, the sets of Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" turned to ashes completely. He mentioned that this particular set was treasured as one of the last memories of his father late Sri Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

It primarily creates and appropriates Telugu films and and also gives different generation offices, including sound stages for set development, editing, open air sets, dubbing and digital intermediate suites. 6 fire engines and water tanks were summoned immediately.
