Marvel's Iron Fist canceled after 2 seasons

Unlike the movie studio, which can announce a Captain Marvel movie will be out in 2019, the television studio will always be beholden to our networks, and so if our networks want another season of Iron Fist, we're ready to go.

It didn't take long for Finn Jones to speak about the cancellation of Marvel's Iron Fist.

The last part of the statement most likely refers to the possibility of a second season of "The Defenders", however Marvel Television chief Jeph Loeb previously told a Reddit AMA session that there were no plans to make one happen.

Despite a second season that course-corrected many issues with the critically panned first season, Iron Fist remained the redheaded stepchild of Netflix's Marvel family.

Iron Fist debuted a year ago on Netflix, and was quickly pummeled by a wave of negative reviews.

News of the cancellation comes on the heels of a second season - which was released on September 7.

"While this series is done, the story lives on in the MCU where Danny, Colleen, Davos, Ward, Joy, Misty and Typhoid Mary still fight the good fight", said Metzner. Dividing the characters between two different streaming services may not be appealing. We're thankful to fans who have watched these two seasons and for the partnership we've shared on this series. The deal also includes the shows Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and The Defenders.

In the meantime, both seasons of Iron Fist will remain available on Netflix, while season three of Daredevil premieres next week, and another season of both Jessica Jones and The Punisher are already in the works.

Since its debut, Iron Fist has been riddled in controversy surrounding their decision to white wash the cast. Let us know in the comment section below!
