Mark Wahlberg reportedly demanded $1.5m before approving Christopher Plummer's casting

After reports emerged this week that Michelle Williams receive 0.6 percent of Wahlberg's salary to reshoot Kevin Spacey's scenes because she was so "appreciative" the film were replacing a known sexual predator to begin with, Wahlberg apparently issued All the Money in the World financiers with an ultimatum: cough up over a million or he doesn't sign off.

The USA Today has now reported that Wahlberg refused to approve Plummer as a replacement unless his fee was secured, having had co-star approval written into his contract, two people familiar with the situation but not authorised to speak publicly told the publication.

"What he said was, 'I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me.' And that's how he (expletive) them", one source told USA Today. Christopher had to get paid.

"I said I'd be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me", Williams told USA Today. The second source, a Hollywood insider, said that Wahlberg's lawyer formally vetoed the Oscar victor in a letter to financiers until his demand for more payment was met.

A lawyer and a rep for Wahlberg did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

While Wahlberg reportedly played hardball with the movie's producers about the reshoots, Williams told USA Today that she appreciated the effort to make the changes to the movie so it would not be tainted by Spacey.

But according to TMZ sources, the glaring disparity in Williams and Wahlberg's payouts came down to their individual contracts: Williams' contract reportedly required her to do reshoots, as needed, as part of her overall salary, whereas Wahlberg's did not have such a clause.

"At the same time, performers at this level negotiate their above-scale rates through their agents". But Michelle, no. Me, no.

This new development offers a new wrinkle to the previous reporting about this exorbitant pay gap situation.

Williams said she brought Burke as her date so she could listen to her talk.

Turns out Marky Mark might be an even slipperier than we thought. I said, 'Will you come back [and reshoot]?' They said, 'Absolutely.' I said, 'For how much?' They said, 'For free.' Everyone came back for nothing.
