Manchester City want better performances, not more points - Pep Guardiola

Of the 24 BBC TV and radio football pundits all but three have predicted that Manchester City will win the Premier League this season.

Pep Guardiola's side are the bookmakers' favourites to triumph once again and it's not hard to understand why.

City dominated the Premier League last term as they finished first 19 points ahead of second-placed United and also won the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 win over Arsenal at Wembley Stadium. Teams that just wanted it more could actually hurt us.

Jurgen Klopp has improved his midfield, added depth in attack and, most importantly, solved his goalkeeper problem.

The pair differ on their picks, with Shearer selecting Man City to win the title and Wright naming Liverpool.

He said: "Before saying anything or doing anything, you want to observe and see if you see the same mistakes which we've done previously". I know there has been a lot of talk about pre-season in the press but I am sure behind the scenes, Jose has been giving them the right amount of work'.

Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal are already confirmed participants and we'll show every game involving these six teams.

Puma will take over from Nike at Manchester City and will also provide kit for La Liga side Girona, Australian outfit Melbourne City, Japan's Yokohama F Marinos and Uruguayan outfit CA Torque.

The Puma deal is a significant uplift for Man City who were getting an estimated £20 million a year under the old Nike deal. They argued that they have to sell players for financial reasons if they fail to qualify for Europa or Champions League.

At the other end of the spectrum, despite their big transfer spend and many people tipping them to be a surprise package this season, Michael Owen has Fulham to go down.
