Simran didn't receive much positive reviews and thus, there has been a poor box office collection. In two days, The film has collected Rs 4.86 crore at Indian Box office. However, despite all the hype around the movie and the positive responses, the movie opened to a lukewarm response at the box office and made a business of Rs 2.77 cr on its day of releae.
This week witnessed the release of Simran and Lucknow Central. It managed to generate some buzz due to its star cast, theme and trailer.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted the second day business figures of both the films and one can't help but notice how a positive word of mouth is helping Lucknow Central.
After a disappointing opening day with the collection of 2.77 crores, Simran witnessed a growth of 35.74% on its second day. "India biz.", wrote Taran Adarsh on Twitter. The film is directed by Ranjit Tiwari and produced by Nikhil Advani under the banner of Enmay Entertainment. Later he manages to make friends and plan to form music band together to escape from the jail.
Lucknow Central Shows the story of a small town man, Kishan Mohan Girhotra (played by Akhtar) who dreams of making it big as a singer, But lands up in the Lucknow Central jail on charges of murder.
Actor Diana Penty, who had a Bollywood debut with Cocktail in 2012, is playing a role in the film.
The film starrring Farhan Akhtar in the lead role alongside Diana Penty, the film also casting Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy, Inaamulhaq and Rajesh Sharma as the supporting cast.
