Linkin Park releases 'Carpool Karaoke' episode with Chester Bennington

It's a show that's supposed to feel lighthearted and inconsequential, but Linkin Park's episode of Carpool Karaoke is anything but, shadowed by Chester Bennington's death by suicide soon after its filming. He's laughing, smiling and having fun singing with the group. This may even make his outcome sadder.

The episode came with the blessing of Bennington's family, so watch it in full below.

In August, Corden said that the decision to air the "Carpool Karaoke" episode was up to Bennington's family.

Nevertheless, the clip shows Bennington looking in exceptionally high spirits as he cruises around belting out his own Linkin Park songs, as well Outkast's "Hey Ya!", with comedian Ken Jeong riding shotgun. Bennington says at one point during a sing-along to the band's song "In the End".

Bennington and the band joined comedian/actor Ken Jeong to film an episode of the Apple Music series before the signer passed away in July.

Bennington was found hanging in an upstairs area of his home in the Palos Verdes Estates neighborhood of Los Angeles on July 20. "This is what depression looked like just 36 hrs b4 his death", she wrote. The post includes an appeal for donations to Music for Relief's One More Light Fund - a disaster relief charity formed by the band in 2004 - in honor of the late singer.
