Kohler union members vote to authorize strike

With a possible strike looming, the Kohler Co. has presented what the company calls its final contract offer to Wisconsin union workers.

Union workers at Kohler Company have rejected the company's latest offer, and are prepared to strike.

United Auto Workers Local 833 announced the vote results Sunday.

Tayloe says that the company claims it is giving workers a 20 percent increase in pay across the board.

Action 2 News reached out to the Kohler Company on Sunday.

"A work stoppage like this will unfortunately cost our associates and can negatively influence our desire to grow jobs in this location", the company said of its Sheboygan County site.

A few provisions the union wanted included a higher hourly wage for lower-paid union workers.

This would mark the first time since 1983 that Kohler employees took the step to strike.
