JK: Three Army jawans injured as Pak violates ceasefire in Baramulla district

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], August 13: The Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire and invoked heavy mortar shelling and firing of small arms on Sunday, in the Naushera sector of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pakistani troops opened fire at Indian positions at Baaz Post in Uri in Baramulla district at around 8:30pm, defence spokesperson said.

An intelligence source said another soldier identified as Sepou Mohit Kumar also sustained injuries in the firing.

Sepoy Mohit was seriously injured and was shifted to nearby Army medical centre.

The exchange of fire stopped at 6.45 am, he said.

Another soldier is reported to have been injured in Pakistan army's indiscriminate firing in the same sector. Raqia Bi died after mortar shells fired from across the border exploded near her house at Gohlad Kalran village, an unidentified police officer told PTI.

One woman and A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army have been killed during the exchange firings in the Poonch district. "The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty", said Mehta.

Meanwhile, the security forces have continued their search operation in Kupwara on Saturday after the attack on 42 Rashtriya Rifles headquarters by terrorists last night.
