Jazz C Rudy Gobert out 4-6 weeks

The Utah Jazz are spiraling after losing four of their last five and their descent may have developed a steeper angle after Rudy Gobert's right knee contusion was rediagnosed as a bone bruise.

During the Jazz's Friday matchup with the Miami Heat, Gobert found Miami guard Dion Waiters' shoulder in his knee following a loose ball.

Gobert (knee) won't play during Saturday's game against the Nets, Kyle Goon of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Utah will look to bring their record to back to.500, meanwhile, but in the absence of Gobert, they'll need multiple players to step up, and will have to succeed in a few key areas. He has totaled eight double-doubles on the year and dating back to last season has totaled 244 blocks, the most in the National Basketball Association during that span.

Waiters said he would have preferred Gobert discuss the incident in private instead of spreading his opinion on social-media.

After the injury, Gobert was miffed by the way Waiters crashed into his knee. With him out, Derrick Favors will get a huge boost as he'll spend more time at the five-spot and see his minutes in the 30s with regularity.

"I've never been a dirty player in my life", Waiters said.

"I didn't even know that was him", Waiters continued.

Gobert then missed Utah's game the following day. Tell him to get out of his feelings. Tell him to get out of his feelings. "I'm not a dirty player".

Waiters' intentions are impossible to decipher, but Gobert has a personal excuse to lash out.
