Jamie Foxx joins other celebrities to help victims of storm 'Harvey'

Harvey, which was downgraded to a tropical storm just before it hit Houston, has caused devastating damage in Texas and Louisiana since making landfall.

The organisers of the One Love Manchester benefit concert are helping to plan a star-studded telethon to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, according to Texas-born rapper Bun B.

TMZ reports that the telethon could take place as soon as 12 September, with broadcasts coming from three different United States cities; LA, New York and Nashville. We're here for you.

Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton will reportedly host the telethon in Nashville, while Foxx and Hilary Duff will take over in Los Angeles.

TMZ reported that Foxx, Reese Witherspoon, Blake Shelton, Hilary Duff and Michael Strahan are all involved with the project, with commitments from the four major broadcast networks to air the special for an hour on September 12.

Houston rapper Bun B, who's organizing the telethon, told TMZ that having the current POTUS appear on his own at the telethon without former presidents, particularly Trump's predecessor Barack Obama, would send the wrong message. A third one, in New York City, is also scheduled to feature Houston natives Michael Strahan and Kelly Rowland.

The Kardashians announced they would collectively donate 500,000 dollars (£387,000) split between the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army, while Beyonce said her philanthropic organisation BeyGOOD would be providing support.

Sandra Bullock and the Leonardo DiCaprio are just a few of the famous who have put their money where their mouth is, donating $1 million each to the relief effort.

Announcing on Instagram on Wednesday, Solange said: "I will be doing a special 'Orion's Rise" show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey relief.
