The Luther star could beat odds-on favourites like Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to the role of James Bond after winning the support of producer Barbara Broccoli.
This is still some distance from a confirmation over who will replace Adam Clery lookalike Daniel Craig as James Bond, and release him from his own personal hell of being paid $25m dollars to play a spy. Fuqua was promoting a new sound app in London, and revealed to the Daily Star that he had spoken to Bond series producer Barbara Broccoli about the possibility of the next 007 being played by a non-white actor.
There is no denying that Idris Elba isn't a brilliant actor and an incredible screen presence, and has all the tools to make an excellent James Bond.
Idris Elba has always been suggested for the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig leaves the role, and with recent rumors suggesting it could possibly happen, a new image reveals what he could look like in the role. Antoine said: "Idris could do it if he was in shape".
There's also the fact that neither Broccoli or Fuqua explicitly stated that Elba will 100-percent, without a shadow of a doubt play James Bond in the future.
He said: 'It's interesting that the James Bond thing continues on. "That's the part that I'm like, 'Ugh, come on, '" Elba previously told The Independent. "It could be a woman - could be a black woman, could be a white woman - but I think, that character, everybody would like to see it have...do something different with it, why not?"
