Google Assistant debuts flight check-in, hotel booking features at CES

The source, however, points out that the numbers aren't necessarily as informative as they may sound as the only thing they imply is that Google is pretty much on track to expand its Assistant platform to work on as many new devices as possible.

The Interpreter mode, which will first be rolled out to Google Home speakers and smart displays like the Google Home Hub, will play the role of an interpreter for two and will be able to translate as many as 27 languages.

Hopper with the Google Assistant built-in will join DISH's voice control technology suite, which includes its July 2018 integration with the Google Assistant that requires users to pair Hopper with a Google Assistant device, like speakers, phones and more, to control their TV.

The new interpretation tool will launch when users say phrases such as "Hey Google, be my French interpreter", and will give real time spoken and written translation to aid conversation, Google says.

Google's virtual assistant will tie-up with Google Maps for better navigation. "And when you're driving, the Assistant automatically calculates your ETA from Google Maps if you want to send your arrival time to friends", Google reported. The Anker Roav Bolt, JBL Link Drive and the HumX by Verizon were all announced this week at CES, demonstrating Google Assistant capabilities. Google Assistant will soon let you do checks-in to your flight, save and retrieve your boarding pass. If they plan to stay at a particular hotel or motel, they can book a room using Google Assistant. Currently, this feature is currently live in the US on both Android and iOS.

Google this week debuted a slew of new capabilities for its artificial intelligence software, Google Assistant, at CES in Las Vegas. Google Announces E Ink Screen, New Assistance Features, Interpreter Mode at Trade Show.

Topping it all off is a real-time voice translation capability dubbed Interpreter Mode.

At the very least, the multiplicity of smart home device controllers that will emerge will create chaos. For security reasons, it's available through opt-in, meaning you've got to tick the box in settings. The integration also enables users to verbally reply to messages in over half a dozen chat services.

You can check out all the new updates to Google Assistant here. There is no word on when either of the feature will be released for the global consumers.
