Gmail, Google Drive down in apparent global outage

"The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviour", the company had originally posted on its service website.

Update: All the Google services such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and others are now completely restored.

Several Google users had earlier reported problems with accessing Gmail and other services in large parts of the world.

The issues affected users around the globe, with people in the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America reporting problems. "We are continuing to investigate this issue".

On its GSuite dashboard, Google first updated acknowledging the problem, which it said needs to be resolved.

Facing issues in accessing/using some of the Google services properly?

As of 1pm, the issues were still continuing for some users.

'Users will have issues accessing or attaching files in various products'. Drive: "Upload and download of files", it said.

Down Detector's live outage map is showing that some of the worst hit countries at the present time include Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and the United States. It's an internal outage affecting Gmail users everywhere.

If you've been having issues with Gmaail or Google Drive this afternoon, you're not alone. "Check your network and try again", is the message that these users said comes while sending email.
