Florida man suffers burns putting on flaming jersey

A drunken football fan set himself ablaze over the weekend when an agreement to burn the losing team's jersey of a game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys took a horrifying turn. Because the 27-year-old and his wife, a Packers' fan, agreed to burn the jersey of whichever team lost, according to the Sebastian Daily.

For some reason, a Florida couple chose to make a Packers-Cowboys bet that involved burning the losing team's jersey. "Skin was hanging off his arm and back".

Salyers told sheriff's deputies "he then grabbed the jersey with his right arm and attempted to put it on while it was on fire".

Timothy Silyers told investigators he tried to put on his burning Cowboys jersey.

Police spoke to the couple at the hospital who admitted they'd burn the jersey of the losing team.

Hook said she and other family members got the jersey off Silyers and drove him to Indian River Medical Center.

The incident reportedly came as a result of a lost bet after Aaron Rodgers led Green Bay down the field in a last-minute drive that gave the Packers a 35-31 win.

Maybe if the Cowboys were able to hang on, there wouldn't have been a hospital trip for this Florida couple.

And I shouldn't have to say this, but if you do actually go through with setting something on fire, DON'T THEN TRY TO WEAR THE GODDAMN THING.
