Falcao denies on-field pact played a part in Lima draw

James Rodriguez put Colombia 1-0 up on 56 minutes before Peru leveled 20 minutes later through Paolo Guerrero.

Chile, the South American champions have lost 3-nil to Brazil and have missed out on a spot in the World Cup altogether, while Colombia is through automatically.

Colombia against Peru eventually finished 1-1 - a result left Colombia with a place in the 2018 World Cup, while handing Peru with a play-off place.

However, Colombia forward Falcao stole the headlines, not for his footballing ability on the night but for being caught on camera having a suspicious looking chat with some of the Peru team.

He told Colombian outlet Win Sports: "I believe that Colombia today can play against anyone".

No indication of any further action by footballing authorities CONMEBOL or Federation Internationale de Football Association has been raised as of yet.

That was irrespective of whether the breach was "committed for financial gain, sporting advantage or any other purpose".

The British will go to Russian Federation and Peru will play the dam intercontinental against New Zealand. Friendlies do not count towards suspensions, they must be served in the same competition in which they were committed. But then, in an indirect free kick at goal, Peru equalized.

The ball did not cross the line but a goal was given and Panama went on to qualify ahead of the United States.

All that stands between them and a chance at glory is New Zealand.
