Everton negotiates with Porto to sign Yacine Brahimi

A report claims that Porto's Yacine Brahimi is wanted by Everton, although the Algeria worldwide is not keen on a move to Merseyside and would prefer to join Arsenal.

Brahimi was left out of Porto's Champions League squad to play Roma this week and, according to the report, that move is paving the way for him to leave Portugal.

Brahimi has scored 21 goals in 85 appearances for Porto since making his debut for the Primeira Liga outfit back in 2014, but the 26-year-old is now being linked with the Gunners.

If Everton sealed the deal for Brahimi, the Algerian player will become the fifth signing for the English club this season.

However, one potential problem for Everton is Brahimi's apparent desire to keep playing Champions League football.

Everton, who have so far not commented when contacted by Sky Sports News HQ about Brahimi, could also offer striker Romelu Lukaku a new contract after he said he wanted to stay at the club.
