Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko join first team for training

Conte's selection issues ahead of Spurs were exacerbated by red cards shown to captain Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas in Saturday's shock 3-2 defeat against Burnley, though Victor Moses is available again after serving the suspension he picked up for being dismissed in last season's FA Cup final.

"This moment is not easy for us but I am very happy to have this group of players because they showed me great commitment, desire and will to improve after a great season".

"He is not at the top physical condition but I think he could be in contention for the game".

'I'm not anxious, this moment is not simple but we must be strong to face this situation and it's very important there are no excuses'. This situation could force me to take a different decision. At the moment some players are not 100 per cent fit. I have to make a hard decision, but Bakayoko could be in contention for the game against Tottenham, why not'. Morata also is another player who needs to continue to work and improve and find the right physical condition.

Pedro Rodriguez is also an injury doubt for Chelsea after missing the Burnley game with an ankle knock, but despite sitting out training earlier this week hopes are high that the Spain worldwide will be fit to face Tottenham.

Eden Hazard also featured in the friendly against QPR but Conte will not rush his star man back.

The sight of Hazard and summer signing Bakayoko taking part in training with the rest of the Chelsea squad on Tuesday will therefore have been a source of welcome relief for the Italian.
