Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill will have season-ending knee surgery, report says

Tannehill originally injured the knee last season during the team's Week 14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Tannehill is expected to miss plenty of time, while Ajayi could be back in action next week.

The Miami Dolphins opened their preseason against the Atlanta Falcons, and are now monitoring a situation involving rookie linebacker Raekwon McMillan, who was taken to the locker room with an apparent leg injury.

Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase says that injured quarterback Ryan Tannehill will "absolutely" be ready for the 2018 season, according to Jason Lieser of The Palm Beach Post.

Gase is keeping an eye on the Dolphins' practice at Philadelphia (starting Monday, Aug. 21) and their game against the Eagles (Thursday, Aug. 24) for Pouncey in the big picture.

The Dolphins need to make a move and they need to act fast. The linebacker is listed as a starter on the current depth chart for the team, but that could change during these four weeks of preseason action.

Last year's injury occurred when Calais Campbell hit him low, partially tearing Tannehill's ACL. ESPN's Dan Graziano previously reported the QB will undergo reconstructive surgery on a partially torn ACL.

"Considering where I was when this whole process started, it felt great to be out there today", Pouncey said. I've known him since '06, the first year I came out. "You hate for something to happen like that to one of your teammates, but I'm just going to take it one day at a time, try to improve, try to get better, and work on my skills".
