Did this tweet cost a Packers assistant his job?

McDaniels' name nearly immediately began to circulate around the football world after the Packers elected to part ways with Mike McCarthy.

Many have assumed a fracture in the relationship between Rodgers and McCarthy directly resulted in the Packers' disappointing season, which hit a low point Sunday during a 20-17 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals.

The Green Bay Packers made a decision to part ways with top assistant coach Winston Moss on Tuesday, hours after Moss sent out a tweet many perceived to be critical of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the team's coaching staff.

"You gotta bring in a coach and the first question you ask is, "Alright you and Aaron, do you think you'd get along?' And a lot of coaches are going to say, 'Yeah, yeah we'll get along".

At about 8:30 Tuesday night, Moss tweeted, "The Packers have informed me that there (sic) letting me go. But again, I'm not anxious about that right now". This failure to hold Rodgers accountable appears to be what Moss is referencing.

"We thank Winston for his contributions to the Packers over the past 13 years", Philbin said in a statement.

"And then obviously just sequencing the calls the right way and hopefully they work when we call 'em".

Joe Philbin hasn't been a head coach for three seasons. "As you know, Winston's an excellent football coach. And I feel that's the way it always was".

"I hated to hear the news of Mike", Payton said Wednesday morning.
