Dez Bryant doesn't yet sign with Saints, but is in talks

New Orleans coach Sean Payton acknowledged to reporters on Wednesday that the team had worked out some receivers on Tuesday, including Bryant, but said it wasn't an indictment on the team's other receivers.

It's unclear what the Saints are looking for in a workout with wide receivers. After that there is a serious drop off and the receiving corps could use an upgrade on the outside so it is understandable why the team would be pursuing Bryant and Marshall.

The Saints locker room can handle the personality of Bryant should he sign.

If he's able to do that, his value to the Saints would be not unlike how Anquan Boldin helped the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII at the end of the 2012 season. There will be no blaming struggles on the quarterback with Drew Brees throwing the ball. Veteran Ted Ginn Jr. was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury last month.

Bryant, of course, has been out of work since the Dallas Cowboys released him last April. Thomas leads the team with 70 catches, and he's one of the NFL's best receivers.

Dez Bryant will face the his old team this season on November 29.

The 30-year-old Bryant spent his first eight years in the National Football League with Dallas and last season caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns, including a 50-yard scoring play, for the Cowboys.
