Former Illinois GOP Congressman turned right-wing radio host Joe Walsh - not to be confused musician Joe Walsh, who, to our knowledge, has never been accused of being a lunatic or a scumbag - unleashed a fussy Twitter tirade tonight in the wake of the tragic police officer shootings in Dallas. Vocativ reports that "white supremacists are suggesting that Thursday's deadly attack on police officers in Dallas is the spark needed for what they believe will be a so-called 'race war'". Obama's words and BLM's deeds have gotten cops killed.
The post has since been deleted, and Walsh posted another tweet shortly later insisting he wasn't "calling for violence", just for people to "defend our cops".
Like many others on Twitter, I expressed outrage at his suggestion that some "real America" would revolt against President Barack Obama and Black Lives Matter. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. "You did this Obama", said one.
Walsh also lumped Obama in with "cop haters" in another tweet, who he said Americans should "stand up [and] against".
Walsh has been feeling the heat for his remarks.
Meanwhile, CNN reports that five police officers have died in the recent sniper shootings at a #BlackLivesMatter protest in Dallas. "Of course I didn't mean 'let's go kill Obama and Black Lives Matter.' I was not trying to incite violence against Obama and Black Lives Matter". "The silent majority is gonna begin to stand up and defend our cops", he says.
Walsh's tweets are not the first time he has courted controversy. Blacks lives matter cheers.
It was followed by a series of other tweets blasting Obama and the Black Lives Matter movement and encouraging support for law enforcement.
