Croatia look to Modric to carry them through vs England

Council are to erect jumbotron screens in two of its parks for public screenings of England's World Cup semi-final with Croatia tomorrow night, the New Journal can reveal.

With only European football (soccer) teams left in the running to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup, France and England are considered front-runners, according to data provided by Russia's Public Opinion Research Center.

Harry Kane was not even born when England last reached the World Cup semifinals 28 years ago, but the Tottenham striker - who has met 1966 final hat-trick hero Geoff Hurst - fully appreciates the weight of history he and his teammates are making in Russian Federation. They, like us, are desperate for success.

Croatia will bid for a place in the final on July 15 when they confront England at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday.

Nicknamed "the Fiery Ones", that team has stood as an example to their successors ever since.

"England will be a different opponent to Denmark, Russia or even Argentina". But I don't think anyone thought they would do so as spectacularly as they did. They say time speeds up the nearer you get to winning the World Cup. We're giving our all.

"They were sending them to their mums, dads and grandparents who wouldn't believe them when they said how similar I looked!"

"I've seen lots of ex-players and had lots of messages from ex-players as well who have the same view, so we're really pleased with his contribution, and his work-rate as well without the ball has been incredible for us".

Squares packed with red-and-white painted fans, stalls selling football jerseys and flares, and drivers blaring their horns, people hugging and singing - scenes reminiscent of 1998 are all around as the country of around four million people lives and breathes football. What's more, since the manager was first spotted wearing the bracelet, Monica Vinader have seen sales of the collection soar, with a massive 300% rise in sales compared with past year.

France are aiming to repeat the glory of 20 years ago. "What a great way therefore to show our support by ensuring that some of our recognisable civic buildings and the famous Black Prince statue on City Square, are now displaying their England colours with great pride!"

The England fan chose to wait it out for a better offer and almost sealed a deal until two police officers moved in to talk to a seller and take his Fan ID details. "We don't fear England or anybody else". "But none of the three squads is better than us!" "We worked hard. I scored but we delivered a good match and I'm very proud of everyone".

"For me it was the utmost low, since I knew we were a step from making history and we failed".

One day, so the story goes, Edward the VII was feeling a bit bloated from eating too much dessert and made a decision to undo his bottom button.
