Former Arsenal midfielder Merson, who is a self-confessed Chelsea FC supporter, offered Hudson-Odoi with some advice about his future at Stamford Bridge.
Hudon-Odoi would like to establish himself as a first team player. And Hudson-Odoi, it seems, could become the next young English sensation to join the prestigious league that has emerged as the breeding ground for several young and talented footballers over the past decade or so.
Juventus are to rival Bayern Munich with a bid for Callum Hudson-Odoi after holding talks with the Chelsea youngster's representatives, according to a report. "Now with the midfielders we are in trouble, I think, because I don't know the [injury] situation of Ruben [Loftus-Cheek], if it is serious or not", he said.
Chelsea are prepared to consent to a basic agreement, but only if Hudson-Odoi goes in the summer.
"He is very young but he is improving, especially in the defensive phase".
Fabregas appeared to say his goodbyes to Chelsea's fans on Saturday during and after the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. I think he is a very important player.
"In this club there is a rule - the renewal for players over 30 is usually one year".
"He has an offer for two years and I don't want a very important player like Cesc to be unhappy".
Chelsea remain desperate to convince Hudson-Odoi to stay and Maurizio Sarri's decision to start him against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg on Tuesday was part of that charm offensive.
Sarri added that Chelsea would need to sign a replacement for Fabregas in January but would not comment on speculation linking them with Cagliari's Nicolo Barella.
And Salihamidzic has confirmed that the club are keen on signing the winger, telling reporters at Bayern's winter training camp in Doha: "He's a very interesting player that we really want to sign".
