Thursday and Friday. The meteors are called Perseids because they seem to fly out of the constellation Perseus. A location with a full view of the sky, that's away from light pollution, will be best. This year, however, Jupiter is interacting (via the giant planet's gravitational field) with the icy, rocky remains of Comet Swift-Tuttle. When these particles hit the Earth's atmosphere, they burn up and we see the white glowing streaks in the night sky.
