Apple itself has stated that changes to how overseas profits are taxed would encourage them to repatriate their money, which is a substantial $230 billion, most of which is kept outside the U.S. "I doubt it would ever be a major part of Apple's production line". However the company relies primarily on contractors, such as Foxconn , to assemble the iPhone and iPad and only owns one small manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland.
